First ever EV

If someone told me I would be writing about an EV six months ago I would have thought they were smoking something. I have owned approximately 85 cars in my lifetime. 41 were new. So why did I do it! It wasn’t the price of gas although that was annoying. It wasn’t because I had any problems with my last new car. What happened was that I had seen the absolute disaster of gasoline engines. Without going into detail suffice it to say that the ICE engines date at the end of the road. They are far too complicated and subject to so much repair and maintenance we should move to electric vehicles without any more foot dragging. EVs have developed to the point where they are very reliable and affordable. I studied the field thoroughly and was inclined toward the Tesla but I believed the Ioniq had such advanced features that it is the class of the field. Where the Tesla excels is its self driving ability. There is a lesser feature in the Ioniq but I can’t speak to that with personal knowledge just yet. The biggest impediment to EVs has been the range. That is a false argument. There are more than enough superchargers on the roadways to drive as far as one wishes. And when I am home I just charge it through my garage 120 outlet. It takes longer, obviously, but at night the electricity is cheaper and puts a hefty charge in by the time morning arrives. The regenerative braking captures the otherwise lost energy. That’s free! I actually thought this because I intend to make long trips and it will be much less tiring and less noise than an ICE Car. So far so good! - 4.0
great design and drive, however creaks and cracks

Maybe just the 2025 model from the new USA plant, however the creaks and cracks from hadliner and dash area are absolutely horrific considering the 52,000 MSRP. Rented many 2023 models which were better. I have 2 year lease and will let this go just for that. Drive and style etc is awesome, rande is over 400 miles for me in Houston. Suspesion was hardened over previous models which is likely the reason the creaks are happening. Too many hard plastics inside? - 5.0

I took delivery a few days ago, but so far it is as good as expected. Wonderful ride and still discovering all the features.
