Out of State Buyers

Frequently Asked Questions

NOTE: All out-of-state purchases require a $2,000 refundable deposit.

Q: Can I title and register the vehicle I purchase outside the state of Washington?

A: Yes, we work directly with several states and offer an estimation service via 50 States DMV to provide an accurate estimate of the potential tax and licensing fees associated with your state of residence. These estimates are only available Monday through Friday 9am – 2:30pm. We may need additional time to gather all necessary information from your home state regarding taxes, fees, inspection and emissions information, and any required forms.

Q: Can you ship my vehicle to my home state?

A: There are many transportation providers in Washington state and several that we use to help facilitate nation-wide shipping. While we may provide information regarding transport services, you are responsible for arranging pick-up, delivery, and payment. We also ship vehicles to Hawaii and Alaska.

Q: What about pricing and rebates shown on your website?

A: All of our online and advertised pricing is for residents of Washington state only. While individual circumstances vary, all out of state buyers do not qualify for dealer discounts or additional discounts applied by the dealer during merchandising.

Q: Can I finance with my own bank or credit union?

A: Certified and/or wire-transfer funds must be received from the lender of your choice by the dealership before shipment and delivery can be arranged. We will also be happy to assist with getting you any financing needed for your new vehicle. Drafts, letters of credit, pre-approval letters, or funds on-hold will not be accepted on out of state purchases.

Q: Will you need my driver’s license and insurance?

A: All vehicle purchases in the state of Washington require you to provide valid, VIN-specific insurance in the driver’s name, a valid driver’s license, and if transferring a license plate, a copy of your current state registration. All items must match the registered address for your new vehicle.

Q: Are there any additional fees for purchasing out of state?

A: There are some states that are unable to or unwilling to provide accurate local/city/state taxes, fees, or use tax information. For this reason, we are not able to deliver vehicles to these states. All out of state purchases have a $750 processing fee.

Q: How long will it take to receive my registration and license plates?

A: These wait times vary from state to state, county to county and depending on how fast each processes out of state title and registration requests. If you need to provide emissions, state inspection, ad-valorem or paid property tax-fees-assessments receipts, this can increase the processing time. Our current estimates, with all required documents, is within 60 days from the date of funding.

"I purchased my vehicle from out of state, and the process was smooth and transparent. The team at Seattle Jeep kept me informed at every step and made sure all the paperwork was in order before delivery. Highly recommend!" – Jessica M., California
